Model Rail Road Trains – O Scale
O scale (or Gauge) are a commonly used train scale. It was first introduced in the 1900's by a german manufacturer, Marlin. The O Scale trains are called the 'common' train because the HO scale are half-of-O scale trains.
O scale had it's best days when model trains were considered toys rather then collectors items (or a hobby). Therefore, the O gauge trains are considered more durable, larger and typically have less details. The O scale trains are typically 1:43, 1:45 or 1:48th size ratio depending on manufacturer.
